Michigan Antique & Collectible
Festivals 2011 Michigan Antique & Collectible Festivals in conjunction with Central Michigan University have announced a bold new contest, The Michigan Antique Festival & CMU Interior Design Student Gallery. The Contest emphasizes creativity, affordability & sustainability. This is a great opportunity for students to highlight their abilities and to win a scholarship. CMU Interior Design Students will work in teams and use antiques found throughout the Festival to decorate several rooms. They will be competing for a $2000 Scholarship. "We want to help promote the use of antiques to younger generations," said Lori Oberlin the Festival's Promoter. "This is a great way to showcase the beautiful items our dealers bring to the festival." The Michigan Antique Festival, held this year on June 4-5, July 23-24, and September 24-25, is also focusing on promoting the use of antique furniture and collectibles as an affordable and sustainable way to decorate your home. This is why they will be opening a new display dedicated to the restoration, recycling and repurposing of these treasures.
